JTHD Fragrances was founded in 2017 when, after a request to create a fragrance for hand made soap, a passion was sparked that I couldn't ignore. Beginning with all natural fragrances for soaps and candles, the focus quickly turned to perfume. With this change in focus came a rapid increase in palette.
The sheer vastness of ingredients available to the perfumer and the practically infinite combinations that could exist has kept me consistently engaged. The combination of creative expression with the opportunity to utilise my background in chemistry has led me to truly love this craft.
JTHD Fragrances aspires to produce high quality, unique and unencombered fragrances. Having a focus on combining vintage quality and modern stylings, as well as not sticking too closely to gender tropes, we're not particularly interested in appealing to the masses. And as much as we'd love everybody to love everything we do, that's just not how the world works.
We'd much rather a few people be truly enamoured with something we create than everybody finding it "nice." But just as one could enjoy a pop song or a piece of corner store candy, we also happily embrace banality. So don't be surprised to find a "powerhouse" ambroxan bomb or a sickly sweet maltol overdose from time to time. Because, well, why not?
